SURF P*RN is not meant to be ephemeral. We have a long-term and sustainable vision for this venture. That's why we are committed to getting involved right from the start of our operations. It is in our DNA and values. Needless to say that we are confronted with a critical situation, we must mobilize all aspects of our societies to defend what we treasure the most.

$10 is donated to the organization on every product sold.

And it is also an opportunity to raise awareness among as many people as possible about better ocean management and conservation of its resources.

 

Why Surfrider Foundation ?

Founded in 1990 by Tom Curren and for more than 30 years, Surfrider Foundation Europe has been taking action as a recognized authority on three areas of expertise: marine litter, water quality and public health, coastal management and climate change.

Thanks to its strong expertise in those subjects, the NGO also benefits from a solid support on the ground, with a network of 1,100 volunteers, 1,300 members and 181,000 supporters working around forty local chapters.

Surfrider is a key actor on environmental consultation in Europe especially in France. Since 2012, Surfrider has been one of the few NGOs authorized by the French State to contribute and feed the public environmental debate at the national scale.

To this end, Surfrider sits on the National Council for Ecological Transition (CNTE) and takes part in several environmental conferences. It is also a member of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), the National Sea and Coastal Council (CNML), the Higher Council of the Marine Merchant, the National Waste Council, the TAAF advisory (the French Southern and Antarctic Lands), a member of the Board of Directors of the French Biodiversity Office and the 3 Maritime Front Committees, to raise awareness of the need to take into account an ecosystem approach to marine issues.

Thanks to popular education accreditation, Surfrider develops an important education programs and tools based on awareness raising of young people and citizens about environmental challenges. Then, Surfrider is an independent organization that acts as a strong counter power through legal action.

Due to its history and creation, Surfrider has been developing itself mainly in France. Its main office is in Biarritz and it also has 3 other offices (Bordeaux, Marseille and Paris) and 20 local chapters in France.

However, its action and development concern the entire European area. Its action is heading towards European institutions and legislation. Surfrider has several offices in San Sebastian, Barcelona, Hamburg and several European chapters that strength its local implementation and the coordination of the European lobby campaigns.

 

Besides this partnership, what is our environmental policy ?

We work with a fully end-to-end carbon neutral printing partner, so all prints and framed artworks (and their delivery) are certified carbon neutral.

Our partner is audited by a carbon accounting firm who look at its entire value chain from sourcing, production and delivery.

All papers and wood-based materials are sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council certified sustainable sources. Packaging materials have been carefully selected to reduce the impact on the environment whilst still ensuring your artwork gets to you in perfect condition. Plastics are kept to a minimum and all packaging materials are sustainably sourced, being a mixture of recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials.
